Spammers now to be kept out

Since the spammers did not give up, I now decided to approve applications for new members. Before it was free for anyone to join. That obviously does not work...

Welcome!

Add a short presentation at the bottom of your "My Page" and perhaps also as a blog post. If somebody could come up with a logo or "Badge" for this network and ning, please post it here and we'll decide on the best suggestion.

Time to look at the future for this ning

So, I just started looking into the different options that ning offers. Anybody managed to turn a ning into a free education edition? Have to look into that option. If somebody would like to sponsor a payed plan, contact me, otherwize the education option is the way to go I guess.

Thank you for your reply. The more we think about it over here, the more questions are raised. We might be able to check their Internet access if we don't conduct the test in the auditorium, but in our usual classrooms (and have the students…

We don't give them - on site tests - where internet access (or computers) can be used. If we do, I guess we call them assignments or "home-tests". BUT - this is and certainly will be one of the major issues... when it comes to…

Writing tests on computors with Internet access

Taking obvious preventative meassures into account (such as creating tasks which demands some kind of student interpretation to complete), there is still ample opportunity for creative cheating when students write essays or take tests on computors with Internet access. What are your thoughts on this? How do your schools deal with this problem? Is it a problem?

Pros and Cons of Netbook Use

The use of laptops is becoming more and more of a necessity for schools and other organizations today. Deciding on which technology, brand, hardware, satellite internet provider, etc... to go with can be very difficult. I've been doing some research into netbooks myself lately and I have come up with some pros and cons:

- Pro - Mobility - the size of netbooks, combined with the addition of a… Continue

How wide spread are the use of netbooks...

... and what are your expectations for the upcoming two years? Here in Sweden, the numbers of schools using 1-to-1 and netbooks especially seem to explode.

Are your schools ready for the shift or will they feel forced to follow the "trend"?
